Urban Culture Festival | Rio de Janeiro | 2006-2021
The largest volunteer meeting of Urban Art in the world and the oldest graffiti event in Brazil, annually, since 2006, has brought together hundreds of national and international artists who mobilize to intervene on the walls and walls of the Vila Operária community, in Duque de Caxias, in Rio de Janeiro. In addition to having graffiti as a driving force, the MOF fully encompasses the Hip-Hop universe with Bboys (dance) battles, DJ performances and MCs (music), skateboarding, theater and street circus battles. André Lourenço (aka Kajaman), born in 1976 in the State of Rio de Janeiro, is a self-taught artist. In 2006, he created the MOF (Meeting Of Favela) in Baixada Fluminense, a movement recognized as the largest graffiti task force ever carried out in the world. In 2008, he had his recognition accentuated with the nomination for the Prize Hutuz, the main cultural award of Brazilian Hip Hop. Their participation in important social projects helped young people to recognize the overcoming around their personal skills, creating interaction and market possibilities.

Through a partnership with the producer Capadócia, MOF was the winning festival of the Pontes Program, a partnership with the British Council where, at their invitation, an artist from England would come to Brazil to participate in a Festival. Our guest was Englishman Dave Bonzai, creator of the 2018 identity.

In 2016, when we completed 10 years of MOF, we were able to bring the legend of graffiti documentation around the world, Martha Cooper, to know our event. At her request, we remade one of her iconic photos taken over 30 years ago in NY.
